Winter Boot Ridge is a sophisticated winter boot designed for extreme winter conditions, meeting all criteria for functionality, warmth, and comfort. It boasts a Comfort Rating down to -60°C, making it suitable for exceptionally cold environments.
Constructed from Neoprene, a heat-insulating material, Ridge effectively retains foot warmth for optimal performance. The boot's neoprene lining is SCR-classified, blending neoprene with the synthetic polymer SBR to provide elasticity in low temperatures and superior insulation. This foam material features closed cells, preventing moisture penetration, enhancing insulation, and lightening the boot.
Ridge incorporates a 12.5 mm thick neoprene sock for outstanding thermal insulation. Additionally, it includes a highly breathable 3D lining that promotes air circulation around the foot. This lining, crafted from three-dimensionally woven nylon thread, enhances air movement within the material, offering unparalleled warming characteristics that maintain heat even under extreme and stationary winter conditions.
The boot is also equipped with a shock-absorbing Memory Foam insole that molds to the foot's pressure points for added comfort during heavy loads. The open-cell structure of the memory foam allows for air circulation, contributing to a warmer foot environment. An airy wool layer covers the upper part of the foot, further amplifying the boot's exceptional warming features.
Ridge's midsole features a unique heat-insulating capability with an EVA layer cast under the foot to soften steps and insulate against ground cold, a common source of foot cooling. This design ensures effective insulation from the cold ground.
The durable outsole of Ridge, with a rough-patterned grip, ensures excellent traction on winter surfaces, snow, ice, and slippery conditions like mud and wet leaves. Combined with the boot's thermal insulation, the outsole offers additional protection against the cold.
Designed with an extra strong forefoot roller, similar to hiking boots, Ridge facilitates normal walking, particularly with its insulating construction. This feature eases the step's unfolding, simplifying the walking pattern even in fully insulated winter boots.
Ridge is completely waterproof, made from flexible Heracles® natural rubber that remains pliable in extreme cold, easing walking and use in winter conditions. The boot has several reinforcement zones for added stability and fixation of the foot on uneven terrains.
To enhance comfort, the boot shaft's end is slanted to reduce calf pressure, a design typically found in high-quality hiking boots. An easy-off heel kick is designed for effortless boot removal without manual effort.
