The Sire De Joinville was a French knight known for his bravery and devotion to his King. During the 7th Crusade, the Sire De Joinville was attacked by a Saracen after having already lost his lance. De Joinville avoided the first attack, tucked his sword under his arm as you would a lance, charged and slew the Saracen. His valorous action inspired our choice of his name for this beautiful sword. They were very popular in France in the early 15th century.
