Millennial heritage, modern innovation.
Since ancient times, the axe has embodied a duality between a work tool and a combat tool, evolving over the years to become a symbol of power and versatility. Its use as a work tool dates back to 6000 BC, while the first documented war use dates back to between 700 and 600 BC during the Etruscan era, as certified by the stele of Auvele Felùske in Vetulonia. Around the world, from Europe to Ancient Egypt to the Far East, the battle axe has stood out for its immediate effectiveness in combat, requiring less complex training than other tools, but ensuring decisive performance in close situations.
Extrema Ratio, official supplier of Comsubin, reinterprets this millenary tradition with Estrema, a tactical axe developed for the G.O.I. (Navy Raiders Operational Group). With a cutting-edge design, Estrema combines the robustness and speed of the historic weapon with technological innovation, offering a versatile and reliable tool for the most demanding missions. Suitable as both a tactical combat tool and a breacher tool, Extreme is designed to take on any challenge. The name "Estrema" expresses the nature of this model: our most extreme product, the result of our most daring production experience.
Estrema is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 54 HRC and a dark stone finish. The handle made of G10 material offers two modes of use: by grasping the end of the handle, the traditional grip is obtained, while a narrower grip favors close use. The shank, in its final section, can be used as a burglary tool and for cutting and opening metal sheets. In addition, tapering allows the axe to be used as a lever or crowbar.
Extreme can be equipped with a hammer (impact mass) in hardened and tempered carbon steel, which is hooked and unhooked from the axe keel by means of a snap mechanism with safety to prevent accidental disengagement. This solution, the first of its kind applied in this context, makes the axe even more versatile. The hammer is an optional accessory, which can be purchased separately exclusively on www.extremaratio.com.
Extreme is supplied in an airtight technical case with an innovative design, inside which there is also a Kydex sheath and a belt clip.
The ambidextrous Kydex sheath is designed to offer different modes of transport and provide numerous options for interfacing with the operator's equipment. It can be attached to the belt using the belt clip included in the case, or attached to any platform equipped with the MOLLE system using a paracord lanyard. The retention of the axe is guaranteed by the natural shape and elasticity of the Kydex, supported by a lace fixed with press studs.
