Towing eye

A towing eye is used to attach a cleaning pad or pull pad to one end of the soda bar. You thread the pad through the loop and pull it through the barrel to wipe away dirt, solvent or oil. It is a simple and proven method that works for both rifles, shotguns and pistols.

Towing eyes are available in different materials, usually brass or aluminum, and are adapted to the caliber so that you get the right fit in the barrel. Some models have a swivel mount to follow the rifling, which provides more even pressure and better cleaning. Combine with the right pads and you have a stable foundation for careful gun care.
