Bearded axe

A bearded axe has a characteristic shape with a long edge that is pulled down below the handle - the so-called "beard". The shape gives better control when you grip the axe close to the blade, which makes it popular for both woodworking and bushcraft.

Several of the models have their origins in historical axes from the Viking era, but are used today for carving, outdoor activities and as collectors' items. Some are flexible for finer work, others heavier and more robust.
