Releases

A release is used in archery to release the string with even pressure and minimal friction. It replaces the fingers when firing and allows the arrow to leave the bow more consistently, which increases accuracy.

There are different types of releases depending on the type of bow and shooting style:

• Wrist release - Attaches around the wrist and is fired with a pull of the trigger.
• Thumb release - Held in the hand and fired with the thumb for a smooth and controlled shooting.
• Back tension release - Activated by pulling through the shot, which provides a natural and relaxed firing.

Releases are primarily used when shooting with compound bows, where they help reduce hand strain.
