When you want to shoot more accurately with an air rifle, a good riflescope is almost always worth investing in. In this guide, we go through riflescopes for air rifles - best in test, give tips on what to think about and what actually makes a difference when you stand there and aim. It doesn't matter if you're plinking cans in the garden or shooting targets at a slightly longer distance - a stable and clear sight lifts the whole experience.
We have selected the sights that are suitable for air rifles. Here it's about the right magnification, easy assembly and features that are really useful. If you want to read more about the rifles themselves, you can find our article Air rifle best in test where we advise on different models and what is suitable for different types of shooting.
We have selected six riflescopes that work really well with air rifles - whether you are shooting at cans in the garden or practicing precision on a target. These are not random models but optics that we have had our hands on ourselves, received good feedback on and are happy to recommend when people ask in the store.
The manufacturers are ones we trust - including Swiss Arms, Gamo and Nikko Stirling - and each scope is chosen because it does the job without any hassle. There are both simpler sights and more advanced ones with adjustable magnification and illumination. It all comes down to what you are looking for - a clearer image, better focus or just a little more control when shooting.
A variable magnification riflescope with illuminated reticle that is suitable for both airguns and other types of shooting where you want clear optics and easy adjustment. The Mount Master series is available in several versions and this model is equipped with adjustable parallax down to 9.1 meters for better sharpness at shorter distances.
The tube construction is nitrogen gas filled to prevent fogging and provide water-resistant properties when used in varying weather. The lenses have a multi-layer treatment for better light transmission and a clearer image. The illuminated reticle can be adjusted in both red and green for better visibility depending on lighting conditions. Comes with split 9-11 mm riflescope mounts for easy mounting straight out of the box.
Advantages:

This riflescope from Gamo is a simple but stable option for those who want a little more control over their precision when shooting air rifles. With 3-9x magnification, you can easily adjust the sight to the distance, and the 40mm objective lens lets in plenty of light for a clear image.
The parallax is preset to 23 meters, making it especially suitable for air rifles where the shot distance is often within that range. The scope is built with a 1-inch tube and comes with mounts that fit standard 9-11mm rails.
Advantages:

A variable scope designed for fast shots at short to medium distances. The 1-6x magnification makes the scope useful for both dynamic shooting and hunting where targets can quickly change in distance. The illuminated Circle Dot reticle can be displayed in red, green or black and has several brightness levels to adapt to the environment.
RapidStrike is built in aluminum with a matte black finish and is rated according to IP67 for protection against water and dust. The construction is also shockproof and can withstand recoil up to .338 caliber. The fully multi-coated lenses provide good light transmission and a clear image in varying lighting conditions. The scope comes with a cantilever mount, flip-up lens cover and lockable pop-up turrets right in the package.
Advantages:

Gamo LC 4x32WR is a classic riflescope for those who want a simple and clear optic for their air rifle. With a fixed magnification of 4x and a 32mm lens, you get a bright and sharp image that is perfect for targets at short to medium distances. The parallax is preset to 23 meters - which makes the sight particularly well suited for air weapons.
The sight has a robust construction that can withstand both rain and shocks, so it works well outdoors even when the weather is not at its best. Adjustment for elevation and side is smooth, and it is easily mounted with the included 9-11mm mounts - ready to be put on immediately.
Advantages:

This riflescope from Swiss Arms gives you adjustable magnification from 3 to 9 times and a 40mm objective lens - a combination that is well suited to air rifles for both plinking and more precision-oriented shooting. The sight has an illuminated reticle with blue illumination that can be adjusted in seven different levels, so you can adapt the brightness to the environment.
It is made of aluminum and feels solid without being bulky. A built-in sunshade reduces glare in bright light, and the optics are easy to adjust in height and width. It comes complete with sight rings for both 9-11mm and 21mm rails - so it will fit no matter what you mount it on.
Advantages:

Swiss Arms 6x32EG is a compact and sturdy riflescope with a fixed magnification of 6x - a good choice if you know you want a fixed level for easier and faster aiming. The objective is 32mm, which provides a clear and reasonably bright field of view for air rifles.
The sight has an illuminated red reticle with a full eleven brightness levels to choose from, which allows you to adapt it to the light where you shoot. It is built in aluminum and can withstand use. You can easily adjust both height and side to side.
It comes with rings for 9-11mm, which makes it directly compatible with most air rifles. If you want to use it on a rail with a width of 21mm, it can be solved with other mounts.
Advantages:

A riflescope should not be complicated. It should give you a clear image, be easy to adjust and withstand use - regardless of whether you are shooting cans in the yard or trying to put shot after shot in the middle of the target. Here we have collected the riflescopes for air rifles that we ourselves think work really well. We have had them in our hands, mounted them on rifles and heard what our customers think.
When choosing a riflescope for air rifles, you should first think about how and where you will use it. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Do you want fixed or variable magnification? For simpler shooting at shorter distances, a fixed scope such as 4x or 6x is often enough. If you are going to shoot a little further, or want more flexibility, 3-9x can be a good solution. The lens diameter affects the light entering - a larger lens usually gives a brighter image.
Many air rifles have a 9-11mm rail, which is standard. All the sights we have selected come with mounts that fit that type of rail. Do you have a picatinny or weaver rail? Then there are often alternative scope rings you can switch to.
Some scopes have adjustable parallax, which can be useful if you want to shoot really accurately at close range - something that is often the case with air weapons. Several of the sights on our list have adjustment down to around 9 meters.
Illumination in the crosshairs can be helpful in low light or if you have difficulty seeing the aiming point against certain backgrounds. Red or green illumination is most common, and some sights offer several brightness levels.
The right scope depends entirely on how you plan to use your air rifle. If you are going to shoot at close range in the garden, a simpler scope with fixed magnification is usually enough. If you are aiming further or want more control, an adjustable scope with illuminated reticle and parallax adjustment may be worth looking into. Also consider what mount you have - most air rifles have a 9-11 mm rail, but always double check. And most importantly: choose a scope that is built for air rifles, so that it can handle the recoil and hold the settings.
