Specimen & coarse rods

Specimen and coarse rods are used when the fishing requires more control over presentation and trickling. This can be anything from classic top-knot angling to feeder and carp fishing where casting length, sensitivity and strength need to work together. The type of rod determines how you fish and in what type of water.

Feeder rods and quiver rods are used when the bait is presented at the tip, while stronger rods are used for directed fishing where the load is higher. Top-knot coarse rods are simpler in their construction and are used when you fish close and want direct contact with the bait.

The choice is about distance, bait weight and the type of fishing you are doing. The right rod will give you better control both in the casting and once the fish is sitting.
