For the Tanfoglio family, guns are a legacy dating back to the early 1900s. Based in the Italian region of Brescia, the company’s first break came in 1948, when Giuseppe Tanfoglio merged his company with the Sabatti family, forming a new firm called SATA. This new company first focused on building separate parts, before producing their first 6.35 mm semi-automatic pistol in 1958 as well as a few hunting rifles.
At the end of the 60s, Giuseppe Tanfoglio decided to create his own company, named after his family. He mostly focused on producing firearms for sports, particularly for IPSC and IDPA categories. His guns have been used to win 3 world cups, 2 European titles and many national championships worldwide, showing the high quality of the firm’s products.
