The WITCH tactical karambit is inspired by classic karambits, but with a handle adapted for the European grip. This knife is designed by Blade Brothers Knives for self-defense in critical situations and can inflict significant damage to an opponent. The WITCH is made of 5mm thick stainless steel 1.4116, hardened to 57 HRC. It has textured ABS plastic handle scales. The knife comes with a plastic sheath equipped with a steel clip that is compatible with MOLLE. The sheath also has holes that are compatible with TEK-LOK.
The WITCH tactical kerambit is an original interpretation of the traditional Malay knife. This knife has a centuries-old history of use in the Malay Archipelago. The name of the blade's shape, "karambit" or "kerambit," translates to "tiger claw" because of the handle and blade's resemblance to the claws of this predator.
There are several theories about the origin of the karambit. One theory is that the "claw knife" or "tiger claw knife" was created to compensate for the lack of such a powerful tool among people in ancient times. This tool also formed the basis of a distinctive fighting style. Over time, the claw knife became emblematic of Indonesian martial arts.
Another theory is that the karambit knife emerged based on an agricultural tool, the rice sickle. Metal was a very valuable resource in ancient times, and sickles tended to wear out due to frequent sharpening. Therefore, it was common practice during that era to produce knives from remnants and fragments of agricultural tools.
