Arnvik is equipped with a hardened saw blade made from Japanese SK5 steel – a material that is exceptionally well-suited for cutting tools such as saws. The blade is easy to replace and requires no special tools.
Aside from the rubber-coated handle, all components are made of metal, making the saw extremely robust – a tool you can rely on for years to come.
The Nordic Pocket Saw Arnvik was originally developed for military and security forces, which is reflected in its darker colors and the absence of shiny parts. It is designed to withstand all weather conditions, from extreme cold to heat, and to perform reliably in any situation. This is why plastic components are excluded from the mechanical parts that control the locking and opening of the saw.
The saw is perfect for cutting firewood, building a shelter, clearing paths, and removing fallen trees during hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. It is also well-suited for pruning trees and branches in your garden or clearing overgrown bushes.
The saw frame extends through the entire handle, serving as a stabilizing core similar to a full tang knife, enhancing stability and preventing any wobbling during use. Every component is made from metal for maximum durability, except for the handle, which is constructed from TPE to provide a comfortable and secure grip in all weather conditions, with or without gloves.
The saw blade undergoes Ultra-High Frequency Impulse Hardening in two steps. First, the blade body is hardened to around HRC50, ensuring durability and flexibility without becoming brittle.
Second, the saw teeth are hardened to around HRC60, making them exceptionally hard for long-lasting sharpness. This process results in a durable and flexible blade with sharp teeth that retain their edge for years.
