The small fly must be simple, tied with carefully to swim and fish effectively despite its tiny size. A good taper and soft hair make even the smallest fly look alive. The micro tubes out-fish small hook flies anytime. Lighter and livelier, offering the flexibility to change hook size and color, they are simply the best design. Secure the loose hook with FITS tubing in S or XS.
The Aberdeenshire Dee is our favourite Scottish river and this little fly has proven to be the best Dee springer fly in my box. We put the yellow under the black - made it swim with soft materials and suddenly the old Icelandic Black Sheep turned into an even better fly. A super standard for cloudy days. This is one of the patterns that we seldom fish in bigger sizes, it’s quite the opposite, the smaller it is the more fish we catch on them.
