Osborne Design (Warren Osborne) is a designer of knives who makes a lot of designs for Benchmade. The 940 Osborne is a beautiful slim design. A lot of attention was paid to the look. The rippled titanium spacer between the parts of the handle is pink anodised. This provides a subtle contrast with the green aluminium handle. The handle feels a bit more rough than usual for aluminium. That is good news for the grip this knife offers. Also the shape of the blade is particularly attractive with a tanto-like shaped tip.
However, not all attention was focused on the look alone. The blade opens very smoothly and is secured by means of the axis-lock Benchmade equips a lot of knives with. The blade is made of S30V-steel. This knife calls for daily use. And that use may be heavy-duty. This is a perfect EDC-knife.
