BFK ZERO is the compact folder in the series. For nearly 30 years, Extrema Ratio has crafted knives for those who demand nothing less than absolute reliability. The ZERO is born from that same hand: milled handle scales for a solid grip, zero-tolerance craftsmanship, and the exact same mechanism as the BFK. Making a knife smaller is easy—you just strip things away. Doing so while retaining every essential element takes deliberate design, and that engineering is what defines the ZERO.
For nearly 30 years, Extrema Ratio has crafted knives for those who demand nothing less than absolute reliability. BFK comes from that same approach: machined scales for a secure grip, zeroed tolerances, a mechanism that conveys solidity with every opening. The move to a folding blade came without compromise: it simply added the gesture.
The mechanism
At the heart of the BFK is the Crossbar Lock system, securing the blade open with a play-free lockup. It can be operated with one hand, equally from either side, while keeping the fingers clear of the edge’s path when closing. Fast opening, controlled closing; the lock settles with a solid, reassuring sound, and within a few days, the motion becomes muscle memory.
How you will carry it
In your pocket, with the clip. The reversible clip allows for fully ambidextrous carry, keeping the knife discreetly positioned along the edge of the pocket. Its low weight fades into the rhythm of everyday use. From morning to night, the BFK goes with you through the day—there when needed, light and unobtrusive when put away.
BLACK and TACTICAL MUD (aluminium handle, burnished blade): The essential versions of the range: machined aluminium and a burnished finish that absorbs the light. Black in its purest simplicity; Tactical Mud with the same discipline, in a warmer tone
- Crossbar Lock: Blade lock, one-handed operation, closing with the fingers kept clear of the edge’s path
- Reversible clip: fully ambidextrous carry, discreetly positioned along the edge of the pocket
- N690 steel: hardness, resilience, reliable performance year after year
- Machined scales: a secure grip, with dry or wet hands
The dimensions of the range
BFK (195.5 mm overall length, 82 mm blade) is the full-size folder in the series. BFK ZERO brings the same mechanism into a compact format, for even more discreet carry. Two mechanisms, five variants, one standard. On the fixed-blade side, the PIXEL, MICRO and NANO range is built with the same attention to construction and detail.
When someone asks tomorrow if anyone has a knife, you’ll already be prepared.
And you’ll find out just how often you could have used one.
